IIC Announces 2007 Excellence in Information Integrity Award Winners

The Information Integrity Coalition (IIC) announced the 2007 EII Awards finalists and winners at the twelth annual EII Awards Banquet. The ceremony was held at the Harold Washington Library Center in Chicago on Monday, 10 September, 2007. Crystal trophies were presented to Gold, Silver and Bronze winners in For-Profit and Non-Profit categories. Plaques were presented to three finalists in For-Profit and Non-Profit categories.

The evening opened with a keynote address from Mr. Taylor Hawes, Controller for Finance Operations at Microsoft Corporation. Mr. Hawes discussed the ubiquity of information, work locations, and technology and how this drives a need to focus on data quality and Information Integrity in his address entitled "Technology Trends and Information Integrity – Why it Matters!" Awards were then presented to the following organizations in their respective categories.

For-Profit Category

  • Gold Winner: Xansa Plc, UK
  • Silver Winner: Motorola, Inc., USA
  • Bronze Winner: Nova Information Systems, USA
  • Finalists: American Express, USA; Lufthansa AG, Germany; TSYS, USA

Non-Profit Category

  • Gold Winner: The UAB Clinic for AIDS Research, USA
  • Silver Winner: SKS Microfinance, India
  • Bronze Winner: Lok Satta, India
  • Finalists: Blue Planet Run Foundation, USA; Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County, USA; Village of Schaumburg, USA

The evening was concluded by Madhavan Nayar, Co-Founder and Director of IIC, who shared the IIC Vision as we embark on the journey to ensure the use of information with confidence. Dr. Sri Ramamoorti, IIC Director was the Emcee for the evening festivities.

"The 2007 EII Award Banquet was an inspiring event featuring 225 attendees from around the world to celebrate accomplishments of organizations in For-Profit and Non-Profit categories in achieving Information Integrity. The Harold Washington Library Center in Chicago provided great ambiance as this year’s Banquet venue. The overall attendee feedback rated this year’s Banquet as a Best-in-Class event."
