FERF Research

Financial Executives Research Foundation, Inc. (FERF) is the research affiliate of Financial Executives International (FEI).

Research Objective:

The objective of FERF research project is to identify practical approaches for financial executives to assure Information Integrity within their companies.

Introduction:

Information Integrity has two definitions:

  • The dependability and trustworthiness of information.
  • The accuracy, consistency and reliability of the information content, process and system.

In 2007 and 2008, FERF released “Technology Issues for Financial Executives: Annual Report.”

Here are some of the key findings:

  • Information Integrity/Data Quality ranked first as the most broadly shared critical technology concern reported.
  • Over 70% of the companies with over $5 billion in annual revenue consider lack of Information Integrity as negatively impacting business performance.

Almost 70% of the respondents plan to undertake programs to improve Information Integrity over the next year.

Research Methodology:

This research project will include interviews of financial executives of those companies that have been recognized as exemplars in the field of Information Integrity.
