Awareness
Objective:
- To promote Information Integrity (I*I) awareness by communicating benefits, sense of urgency and compelling messages for I*I.
The IIC has been established because past and present focus on information and Information Integrity has been limited to specific industries, professions and disciplines. Consequently, the knowledge, technology and experience gained within diverse fields such as auditing, information economics, aerospace engineering, systems engineering, decision theory, law, robotics, software, etc. have not been leveraged through synthesis and universal application. The IIC intends to increase awareness of Information Integrity and be the clearinghouse for the knowledge and expertise about Information Integrity and the catalyst for creating a new Information Integrity discipline and industry.
Progress to Date:
- Received support from a broad spectrum of thought leaders from industry, academe and government.
- Enlisted seasoned practitioners and distinguished professors as members of IIC Board of Directors since 2001.
- Gave talks at conferences, wrote articles and created special reports since 1993.
- Hosted industry-specific discussion sessions since 2003.
- Created I*I entry in Wikipedia in 2008.
Future Plans:
- Promote industry specific conferences to facilitate exchange of challenges and best practices.
- Build a network of senior management for promoting I*I to industry, associations and government.
- Expand Special Interest Groups to improve the scope of I*I coverage in industries, academe and government.
- Share I*I headlines with IIC membership and the public.
